According to a study recently published in the online journal Lancet Psychiatry, more Americans are smoking pot than ever before. And 8.4 million of them are doing precisely what Nate Dogg told them to do in “The Next Episode:” smoke weed every day. While many of them have their reasons, like easing their anxiety, for example, others don’t need an excuse. But in case you need an excuse, or a few, to spark that ganja today, tomorrow, and the next day, here are 5 reasons why you should smoke weed every day.
1. It’s just weed
You’ve probably heard that one a million times when people talk about why to smoke weed every day. In fact, you’ve more than likely said it yourself on multiple occasions. But that’s because weed is just that, weed. Not once has it killed someone, nor has it ever caused someone to overdose. Even the FDA has admitted that there have been precisely zero marijuana overdoses.
As for that whole “first ever marijuana OD death” story that’s been going around, well, don’t let a clickbaity headline fool you. Long story short, cannabis was associated with the death of an infant. But by associated, the doctors aren’t saying marijuana was the killer. 2. Smoking weed is safer than popping pills and binge drinking
It’s no secret that alcohol and prescription drugs are highly addictive. That’s not to say that a person can’t become addicted if they smoke weed every day, but the odds of that happening are much lower than other substances used daily. Just take it from someone who knows what it’s like to smoke weed every day for years and then suddenly go pot-free. It’s called a tolerance break, and lots of weed smokers take them. Some people can go as long as a few months without picking up the pipe, even if they’re heavy smokers.
While refraining from cannabis isn’t typically that difficult, the same cannot be said for prescription drugs and alcohol. Cannabis, on the other hand, isn’t associated with any major health risks. But that’s a whole lot easier to manage than tremors, abdominal cramps, and vomiting, which are all common symptoms of pill and alcohol withdrawal.

Also, weed smokers are less likely to develop type 2 diabetes. Additionally, they have lower levels of bad cholesterol and a reduced risk of heart disease.
5. The stigma surrounding people that smoke weed every day is bullshit
Perhaps the most prime reason why you should smoke weed every day is that it doesn’t make you any less of a person than the stuck-up snob that swears cannabis is the devil’s plant. The stigma associated with people who smoke weed every day is bullshit in so many ways. First of all, weed doesn’t make you lazy. There are plenty of athletes out there, like Ricky Williams, who smoke weed every day and are in tip-top shape. Second, just because you smoke weed doesn’t mean you can’t be successful. In fact, some of the world’s top CEOs have smoked pot. For example, George Zimmer, Richard Branson, and Sergey Bren, just to name a few.
Choosing to smoke weed every day is your business. And by choosing to do so, you’re only helping to eliminate the existing stigma by proving that you can smoke pot and still live life to its fullest. Before long, cannabis will be legal worldwide. So to anyone who opposes it, well, they better buckle up and get used to it because the war on drugs has and will always be a giant fail.
